Hi reader,

This is just an effort from me to think out loud and also make you think so that you can also marvel at who God is along with me.

Theological Fact #1: Jesus destroyed curse and sin on the cross.

How?

Jesus defeated the death by rising from dead. But before that he destroyed curse and sin on the cross by his death. We take this fact for granted, but how does it work?
This is how..
Galatians 3:13 says, Jesus became a curse.
2 Cor 5:21 says, God made Jesus to be sin.

This implies Jesus became an incarnation of sin and curse on the cross. So, sin and curse got destroyed along with Jesus’ body on the cross. Therefore, his death in effect is the death of the power of sin and curse.
Thus, the death of Jesus on the cross, marked the end of the power of sin and curse!

What’s in it for us?
This truth reminds us that sin and curse are absolutely destroyed and defeated and have no power over us. So we can live victoriously without fearing any sort of sin or curse. We can live like conquerors because of the death of Jesus on the cross and along with him the destruction of sin and curse.

Theological Fact #2: Jesus said, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End.” (Revelation 21:6)

What does it mean?

If an entity exists such that whenever he says is the beginning and, whenever he says is the end, then that entity can make a statement such as,” I am the Alpha (the beginning) and the Omega (the end).”

So, whenever God says is the beginning and whenever God says is the end.
He is not bound by time rather time is bound by him, and he is above and beyond time.

God is the One who started the time (Genesis 1:1) and he is the One who will end the time (Revelation 21:1-6a).

So, God is the one who conceptualized and created time. He is the Author and the Creator of time. Time came into existence because of him.

Hence, God is above and beyond time (or outside of time) and hence, timeless or an eternal being with no beginning and no end.

So, whenever he says is the beginning and whenever he says is the end. He is the Alpha and the Omega. He is the One who was, who is and who is to come.

What’s in it for us?
His magnanimity and incomprehensibility and the limitations of our minds to understand and our language to articulate him for who he is ought to fill us with awe. Our God is so big!
And that, he sees our past, present and future at one shot, and he was and is and will be in absolutely control of every bit of it. And that, he is weaving all of it together for our good and to accomplish his perfect end for the praise of his glory.
